Note to Parents: About the ads you may see

I sincerely apologize if you are getting pop-up ads that are linked to words on this website.  These are not something I requested or authorized for our class website.  They have been put there by Edublogs as a means of “paying the bills.”  I find this to be unacceptable and I am working to figure out how to get around it.  Until then:

1. Please don’t click on the ads.

2. If you see ads, go to a different website and come back.  Apparently the site will recognize that you have already been there and will not allow the ads to pop up again.

3. I will not be providing access to the website at school, since I cannot guarantee the content of these ads.

Thank you for your patience and I will let you know as soon as this problem has been fixed.

In Other News:

We are currently working on our revision unit in writing workshop.  Students are learning how to take a piece of their writing and make it even better.  They are adding to their stories and putting in dialogue.  They are also taking out parts that don’t make sense in their stories.

This week, we are completing our reading test.  The students are working on test taking strategies and showing what they have learned in the last five weeks.

In math we have started learning to recognize coins and count money.  This is a tricky concept and we will be working on this periodically all year.

In science we are learning about water and all the places it goes on the earth. We have learned about bodies of water and how water travels from place to place. This week we will be learning about how water behaves when it is in contact with different substances on the ground.

In social studies, we have been learning pilgrims and the history behind Thanksgiving. We are also conducting our classroom economy.

If you click “Photos,” you will see pictures of some of the things we did last year. I can’t wait to begin posting pictures of this new school year!

From,

Mrs. Woods
